Only I.T. is authorized to install software on VT-owned systems. Any exceptions need to be approved via our I.T. ticket system. 

To determine if a software is currently approved for installation, browse to the link https://vt.cobblestone.software/public/ and enter the software name in the keyword search field. Upon executing the search, it will display a list of matches. You can see the details and use limitations by clicking the "view" link.

If your desired software is not on the list, please create an I.T. ticket requesting a Software Review. You will need to include the reason for your request and what the software will be used for, Vendor, link to the software's website, and a copy of the eULA of the software. In addition, include what data and classification (https://apps.ise.vt.edu/tickets/kb/faq.php?id=106) will be used or collected by the software.
